Parichay - The Blog

TEAM

Parichay (পৰিচয়, ‘identity’) is a collaborative effort between law schools in India to provide legal aid to those filing appeals against their exclusion from the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.

At the blog, we hope to introduce Parichay’s work to a wider audience, and initiate conversations about citizenship, statelessness, and immigration laws. We recognise the absence of a space that centres perspectives from the Global South in examining these areas of study. To that end, we want to inspire dialogue between legal practitioners, academics, and activists, and amplify diverse legal, historical, and sociological narratives.
